Wattlestone is pleased to announce that Travellers Group, our regional accommodation platform, has completed its fifth strategic acquisition since launch, securing Cityville Apartments & Motel in Rockhampton, Queensland.
This latest addition strengthens Travellers’ presence in key regional markets and reflects our continued focus on backing scalable, high-quality operating businesses in essential service sectors. Located in the heart of Rockhampton, Cityville offers 24 modern, self-contained apartments and motel rooms catering to both corporate, government and leisure guests. The asset benefits from strong local demand fundamentals and excellent operational upside.
Wattlestone Chairman, Andrew Northcott, commented:
“This acquisition is another step forward in Travellers’ mission to redefine regional hospitality. We’re building a network of high-performing assets across Australia’s most important regional hubs—backed by strong governance, operational excellence, and long-term alignment.”
Travellers Group has rapidly expanded since its establishment in late 2023, with other properties in Bundaberg, Emerald, Dubbo, and Orange already under management. Each acquisition reflects a disciplined strategy of identifying regionally dominant properties with scope for operational uplift through systemisation, branding, and guest experience enhancement. The Cityville transaction was sourced off-market.
Travellers is owned by Wattlestone and led by an experienced management team including Managing Director, Craig Smith. The business is executing against clear growth targets and is well positioned to continue scaling its national footprint.
