Travellers Group acquires Bundaberg hotel
Australian accommodation group, Travellers, today announced the acquisition of the 44-key Burnett Riverside Hotel, a landmark riverside property located in the heart of Bundaberg’s CBD.
This marks the company’s fourth regional acquisition, reinforcing Travellers’ commitment to expanding its presence in key regional markets across Australia.
The Burnett Riverside Hotel aligns with the group’s strategy of securing best-in-class accommodation assets in key regional hubs.
Travellers Managing Director, Craig Smith, described the hotel as one of a kind in the Queensland coastal city.
“Conveniently located in Bundaberg’s CBD, the hotel offers sweeping views of the Burnett River from its rooms, conference and events spaces, and the popular H2O Restaurant & Bar,” Mr Smith said.
“The Burnett Riverside provides a ‘home away from home’ for both corporate and leisure guests, offering a range of well-appointed accommodation options including king rooms and suites as well as family and loft-style apartments.”
Burnett Riverside General Manger, Luke Thomas, will relocate from Darwin to Bundaberg to take up the role, bringing with him extensive hospitality management experience, including a significant tenure at the Darwin Free Spirit Resort.
Originally from the UK, Luke is no stranger to regional Australian locations and is eager to build lasting networks whilst making a long-term contribution to the vibrant Bundaberg community.
“We aim to build upon the strong foundation already established at the Burnett Riverside Hotel, enhancing its offerings and delivering exceptional experiences for guests,” Mr Thomas said.
Our focus will always be on contributing positively to the local community.”
The off-market sale was facilitated by ResortBrokers.
Founded in late 2023, Travellers has rapidly expanded its portfolio to include best-in-class regional accommodation offerings in Emerald, QLQ, Dubbo, NSW, Orange, NSW and now Bundaberg, QLD.
